Why Yoco Payment Gateway

One account for your shop and website.

Your online and in-person sales, together

Stop running your shop and your website as two separate businesses. One account, one sales history, one payout.

A checkout your customers already trust

Your customers pay on a secure Yoco checkout page by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Better rates for your business

Your online and card machine sales count towards one monthly total. Once that total passes R50k, you pay a lower rate on both.

Let customers pay in instalments

Help customers say yes to bigger purchases with split interest-free payments through HappyPay. You get paid in full, less fees, while HappyPay carries the risk.

Building something custom?

A proper API for custom sites and apps.

Shopify, WooCommerce and Wix. For a custom site or app, you can build with the Yoco Checkout API.

No. For Shopify, WooCommerce or Wix, you add Yoco through the platform with no code. Only a custom build with the Checkout API needs a developer.

Once you’ve signed up, you can add Yoco to your store and run a test payment. Live payments start once Yoco has verified your website.

Within two business days. If you also use a Yoco card machine, your online and in-person sales are paid out together.

There’s no monthly fee and nothing to pay to install the plugin. You pay a transaction fee on each sale, and your online and card machine sales count together, which can lower your rate. If you’re new to Yoco and sign up without buying a card machine, there’s a once-off signup fee, paid at checkout. Shopify charges its own transaction fees on top. See our pricing page for current fees.

Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay. If your business qualifies, you can also offer Happy Pay so customers can pay in instalments.

Yes, if your business qualifies. Apply for Happy Pay on the Payment Methods page in the Yoco App, then switch them on.

Happy Pay splits the cost into two payments with no credit check. You’re paid the full amount, less fees, on your normal payout schedule. Happy Pay charges a fee on those sales, on top of standard Yoco online fees.

Not yet. Yoco Payment Gateway takes once-off payments at checkout.
